about me

I’ve served the Children’s Shelter of Cebu since 2004. I started as US Director, and became President in 2012. The path that brought me here went through Best Buy’s corporate Marketing department, and a couple positions doing marketing and fundraising at Hospitality House Youth Development in North Minneapolis.

I married my first love a month after graduating college. Her name is Theresa. I noticed when we were dating that I never got tired of being with her. We’ve been married a lot of years and that never changed–the more we’re together the happier I am. If you want my advice on finding a spouse, I’d say that’s a good thing to keep an eye out for.

I’m a Christian. And, sometimes I stink at it. In the end I’m a sinner…redeemed by a cross I don’t deserve. I’ve come to a point in my life that the truth of Christ is obvious to me. Get this: God came to earth to die so you could have a relationship with him. It’s almost absurd, and the most beautiful thing imaginable.

I’m also a Minnesotan. Born in Minneapolis, raised in Albert Lea, educated at St. Cloud State, then again at the University of Minnesota (the ‘U’ to us). Minnesota is more than where I’m from, it’s a part of who I am. I work, talk and get into the outdoors like a Minnesotan.

In 2007, Theresa and I adopted our children from CSC: Remir, Mary Joy, Mark and Raymund. They were 14, 11, 9 and 7 and we’ve been blending together in the dance of attachment since. Our family is awesome. Of course it’s not always easy, but it’s just right. We adore each one of our children.

That’s a good enough start. You’ll pick up a lot of the rest by reading my blog. Thank you for reading this far.
