Hmm sounds like a good blog topic “Love and Boundaries” …I’ll have to “wait on the Lord for that…
I have found that a great place to begin with families is coming up with a family mission statement: I blogged a bit about it on Learning Matters: http://www.learningmatters-shelleymed.com/2011/05/family-mission-statement-reflecting.html
(The short version when our kiddos were young- Family Mission Statement):
When our children were younger we started out with a much simpler Mission Statement that they could retell. “God made us special. We belong together as a family. When we fall down, we help each other up again. We care for each other, and we are always, always loved.”
God bless you and continue to sharpen you for His bow

I talked at length with one of our founders, Paul, this morning about the lack of structure that exists in so many families. Love...encouragement...and "no" should definitely all have a place in a family trying to do their best for their children.

Blows my mind what play can draw out...truly an amazing thing to take part in. So far, so good! I hope to write more in the future, but will of course be careful not to reveal too much for the sake of the kiddos.

Yes PLAY!
Been ACTUALLY having a vacation too! Well….vacation of sorts…taking time away from ‘people interventions” and “typing” to train our new 3 mo old PUPPY!
Beautiful how God gives lessons through all aspects of life…
First word that puppy needs to know is a firm, “NO!”…with lots of love and praise given as reinforcement… And now in just over 3 weeks he stays in the boundaries of our farm property that aren’t even fenced in yet!…
LOVE and Boundaries…same for young children…

WOW- 4 adopted sons?!...Four family lines that now get to flow from One spiritual line!
How awesome is that!
Play therapy and art therapy are “staples’ for any of my child interventions…
SO amazing the importance and value of PLAY!....
SO Father may we “place a little child in the midst of us” and listen…
for Your ways… draw us into PLAY encounters that renew and refresh
and bring back our JOY!

God bless you BIG!
Arms open wide! He’s got hugs comin!

“Tag- you’re it!” :)
